Soon after Adam and I knew we were expecting Edison, two questions arose in my mind:
1. I love Eleanor so much...how do I have room to love another child?
2. How do I foster an unbreakable sibling bond?

Well, the answer to the first is this: I met Edison, and my heart grew, and I love them both beyond measure. Simple as that. I look at them all the time and think, wow, these kids are mine...I am so lucky..what an awesome and humbling responsibility I have been given.

But as for the second...I still wonder about it. I think Adam and I did a good job preparing Eleanor to have a sibling and we do a good job giving her and Edison attention-- as individuals and together. So maybe the answer is that the unbreakable sibling bond just happens. Naturally.
And when I downloaded my pictures from the last few weeks, this is what I saw:
Eleanor and Edison becoming friends.

Sharing tummy time....

...and tubby time.

And even when she doesn't know I am watching...
Eleanor decided to have her breakfast Saturday morning right next to Edison.

I think those are my favorite moments-- when Eleanor doesn't know I am watching. I see her bringing Edison toys, singing to him, talking to him, giving him hugs. And he is really starting to adore his big sister. She makes him smile and I see him looking for her in the backseat of the car just so he can laugh with her. How fun it must be to grow up with a big sister!!

And look at my big boy sitting up all by himself. :)
He looks so proud of himself-- as he should be!!

I am so thankful for Adam and these little ones.
Happy Thanksgiving!

NEWS FLASH: BAYLOR DEFEATS OU 41-12 IN THURSDAY NIGHT GAME

In other equally important news, Eleanor smiled for a picture for the first time in what seems like 6 months!
And I will frame it and cherish it and love it for always, because no matter how old they may be one day, this is how I will always remember my sweet baby girl and my wonderful husband....sic 'em bears!

Happy Halloween! This is what Thursday morning looked like in our house:

Good morning, sweet baby Edison. What a sweet smile you have!
Good morning, two-year-old. Please stop glaring at me.

Thankfully, two-year-old bad moods never last long. :)
Adam and I took the kids to 4 houses in our neighborhood and then put them to bed. Then we sat out on our front porch and handed out candy! It was the first time in our 8 years of married life that we have had trick-or-treaters. So fun! Here are some pics from our evening:

Daddy and Edison in matching scrubs.

Our family.

That little giraffe tail swishing down the street.

Enjoying treats out of her "punkin man".
