An American Girl in Paris
Adam, Eleanor, and I were in Paris for a few days this week. Adam was giving a presentation at an endourology conference so Eleanor and I joined him for a bit of sightseeing. Although we loved seeing the beautiful buildings, art, museums...Eleanor's favorite Parisian activities were exactly what her favorite American pastimes are as well: collecting.
Did you know she was a collector? (It's in her genes.)
Hmmm? What does she collect, you ask?
Well, just about anything. Rocks, for example. Lots and lots of rocks. And Paris was the perfect place for our little collector/geologist. The beautiful parks are paved with gravel paths, just perfect for spying that one-of-a-kind find.
Eleanor, turn around! The Eiffel tower is behind you!
No, mommy. I am on the hunt for a new rock.
And when she wasn't collecting rocks, she was picking "flowers" (a.k.a. weeds, see above), terrorizing Parisian pigeons (see below)...
...and pointing out dogs and balls and trying to join just about every soccer game she saw in the park.
But you know what I loved best about this trip? Family time. Eleanor loves her parents. If one of us wasn't in her sights at all times, she was calling for the missing parent: "MOM-ma" or "Dah-DEE"!
And we sure do love our sweet baby bug.
