Eleanor was 5 months old yesterday!
I just can't believe how quickly the last 5 months have gone by. It seems that just yesterday I was pregnant, nervous about delivery, and in the hospital. Now I have a sweet baby girl with her own personality, likes and dislikes, and ways of communicating. Wow.

We have been pretty busy since school was out. At the beginning of May was traveled to Las Vegas with friends and family to celebrate Adam's upcoming 30th birthday. And yes, I took my baby to Vegas!

Norre and I spent quite a bit of time in our room since I didn't want her in smoke-filled casinos (her precious pink lungs!) or in the 100 degree heat and bright sun (her precious creamy skin!).
But we did have some fun times too.

The Bellagio indoor gardens are so beautiful.

A girl and her daddy.

As far as I'm concerned, this fountain show is the best part of Vegas.

And while walking through the casino on our way to meet Adam's parents, we saw apl.de.ap (he's a member of the Black Eyed Peas).
I hate admitting it, but I have a secret fascination with celebrities. :)

At Eleanor's 4 month check-up with the pediatrician at the end of April, he gently informed me that she needed to spend a bit more time laying on the floor in order to meet her milestones. I think the conversation went something like this:

[Me] Really? You want me to stop holding my baby??

[Dr. Purman] Just a little bit. She needs to explore the world on her own.

[Me] Ok....I guess I can do that. If you insist. But I will do it begrudgingly. I really like holding her. All the time.

How do you expect me to stop snuggling this gorgeous girl? Seriously? Look at her. But he was right. After just a few hours (spread over a couple of days) on a blanket on our basement floor, Norre was rolling over. And she's never looked back.

She also "found" her feet. She holds and tastes them. Yesterday at my office she fell asleep holding one of the them. :)

And blowing raspberries! Oh. my. goodness.
She loves doing this. And she thinks it is absolutely hilarious when you do it back, particularly on her stomach. She gets giggle fits where anything and everything is funny and she just laughs and laughs.

I was and still am a fairly serious person and I have always worried that my own child would be somewhat (or a lot) neurotic. It makes my heart so happy to see her happy.

Eleanor, you are the coolest, sweetest kid I've ever met. I don't deserve for you to be my child!
I love you, baby girl.
