We have a two bedroom home, so as much as I would like baby girl to have her own room with cute decorations, she will be sharing a room with the guest bed. The room was already painted green, but I wanted to add accents of brown, white, and just a touch of pink. I am not a huge fan of pink girly-girl stuff, but knowing that she would receive lots of pink, I wanted things to coordinate as much as possible.
I searched and searched for curtains and bedding that I liked, but I couldn't find exactly what I had in mind.
So I decided to make it myself. I found a great wholesale upholstery fabric store online and ordered samples and subsequent yardage for all my projects.

These are the new grommet-top curtains I made for baby girl's room.

One of my Thanksgiving holiday projects was crib bumpers. The back side is in the same material as the curtains and the front is a patchwork of coordinating fabrics.

I also made a crib skirt to hide the plastic storage boxes under the crib with baby girl's big girl (>6 months) clothing.

A close-up of the bumpers- front and back sides.
(And before you email me- yes, I know there are differing opinions of bumpers. At the very least, they are aesthetic until she arrives. At the most, they keep appendages inside the crib. We'll see!)

More pictures to come of Eleanor's room! I haven't quite finished the decorations yet since I am also trying to finish up the semester of working and teaching, but soon! I still need to hang the butterfly chandelier mobile, hang her framed initials, move an antique window to the other side of the room, and make decorative pillows for the guest bed.

Feeling thankful for Thanksgiving! The break from school means I get to go shopping, wrap and ship Christmas gifts to Texas, grade papers, do laundry, and clean the house.
But what I'm really excited about is finishing up all the sewing projects I have going for baby girl's room. I already made the curtains but I still have many more things to do. I can't wait to post pictures of all my finished projects!

I went on a scrapbooking retreat with a friend this weekend. We stayed at a bed and breakfast that caters to scrapbookers with a huge craft room in the basement. I had lofty goals- 2 new scrapbooks (Hawaii and pregnancy)- but I am only mostly done with Hawaii. Still accomplished quite a bit, and it was so relaxing. I would look at the clock and realize I hadn't thought about school or work in several hours.

Anyway, something else that came out of the weekend-- I found out we have a new Hobby Lobby near by!!!!!! I have so missed this store. I can't wait to visit later this week!

And I'm 35 weeks now. Only a few more to go until we get to meet sweet Eleanor!!!
