Happy Valentine's Day!
~
My favorite memory of Valentine's day is from a few years ago. Adam and I were living in Fort Worth at the time. I went outside to my car to drive to work that morning and there was a card from Jake on the windshield. I went back inside to thank Adam for "helping" Jake give me a card, but when I did he looked really confused. After a few phone calls, I finally figured out that my PaPa had driven all the way from Dallas to Fort Worth to surprise me with a card. I love my PaPa! It still makes me smile to think of it.

This picture was taken one year ago today. Adam is here with his med school best friend Alyn and Alyn's son Montgomery. Adam and I were eating with Alyn, Joley, and Montgomery at Joe T. Garcia's, the best Tex-Mexican food in the world....(pause, Kelly is drooling...this is a slight digression, but oh how I love and miss tex-mex). Since then, we have moved to Michigan and them to Ohio for residency programs- Adam for urology, Alyn for dermatology. Alyn stayed with us last fall during a nearby rotation, but I haven't seen Joley (or even met Montgomery's new little sister) in such a long time!

On a side note, I can't believe Montgomery is turning 2. It seems like just yesterday Adam and I went to the hospital when he was born. And now he's 2!

We are going to Ohio for a short weekend visit in two weeks and I am really looking forward to it. Although we keep up via blogs, it is just not the same as visiting in person. They only live 3 hours away, but finding the time for even this short drive has been problematic with our hectic schedules. Seeing this special family will mean it's Adam's first weekend not working in several weeks, the start of my spring break, and of course good times to spend with really special friends.

ONLY 10 DAYS and counting!!!

I have been carting my laptop back and forth to school in order to work on various assignments this week. While I was sitting and working on Thursday in a reading room on campus I noticed some odd smears on the upper left corner of my laptop screen. I realized the smears are Jake's nose prints. He sleeps on my left side while I type sitting the couch, and then wakes up and looks at my laptop screen intermittently. I can't bear to wipe them off. It reminds me that my puppy loves me.
